Gourmet apple, breaded camembert, and bacon toasties

  1. 4 pieces of breaded Grand Fermage camembert

    4 generous slices of country-style bread

    3 big apples

    75g bacon sticks

    2 shallots

    2 tbsp. cider vinegar

    30g unsalted PDO Charentes Poitou Grand Fermage butter

    A level teaspoon of dry thyme

And don't forget to grade the recipe:


  1. Wash, seed, and slice your apples into small pieces.
  2. Peel and thinly slice the shallots.
  3. Melt the butter in a pan and add the apple and shallot. Cook on medium to high heat for 10 minutes, stirring regularly.
  4. Now add the bacon sticks, cider vinegar, and thyme. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. During this time, preheat the oven to 200°C and toast the slices of bread.
  6. Spread the apple, shallot, and bacon mixture on the slices. Put slices of breaded camembert on top and place in the oven for 10 minutes.
  7. Enjoy immediately, with a salad as a possible accompaniment.
